The Brazilian singer, violinist and writer Jorge Mautner, the son of holocaust survivors, is a something of a sensation in Brazil, having collaborated with Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. This film documents his life from birth to age 17. His nanny introduced him to Candomblé; Mautner then became a precursor of the Tropicália, contributing to the construction of a Brazilian musical identity.
